Diversity & Inclusion

Graduate Assistant - Strategic Diversity Planning, Training, and Assessment

2020 - present

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion, The Ohio State University

I assist in efforts to collect data and synthesize data focused on diversity across Ohio State's campus. In addition, I assist in the development of tools and resources, including webinars, websites, and trainings, for The Ohio State Community related to diversity and inclusion.

Graduate Assistant - The Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation

2018 - 2020

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion, The Ohio State University

The Ohio LSAMP Alliance provides programming and support to underrepresented minority students pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math degrees across the state of Ohio. The Ohio State University is the lead institution of this ten-institution alliance, which includes both community colleges and four-year institutions. As the GA for the Ohio LSAMP Alliance, I assisted in major website revisions (ohiolsamp.org), planned and facilitated the annual conference, assisted in day-to-day communication and meetings with partners, assisted in development and revision of student programming (e.g., peer mentoring program, faculty mentoring program, early arrival program), and assisted in evaluation of LSAMP efforts.

Learning to Learn

ACADEMIC COACH

I have served as an academic coach for both undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. With both groups of students, my academic coaching sessions are guided by students' academic goals. I focus on reflecting on both strengths and weaknesses with students and work to identify strategies and resources that will lead to the accomplishment of goals.

WORKSHOP FACILITATOR

In addition to working with students one-on-one through coaching, I have worked to promote reflection and teach students effective strategies across the Ohio State campus. The audience of these workshops has included undergraduate students, graduate students, professional students, faculty, and staff.

Topics have included:

  • Motivation

  • Time Management

  • Note-Taking
